Jose and Janette Ortiz first met in 1994 at their workplace in Rochester, NY. After dating for only a few months, Janette made a bold decision to relocate with Jose to Ft Lauderdale, FL, in search of a fresh start in life. What followed, however, were several difficult years marked by pain and struggle—two young souls navigating life without family nearby and without the fear of God guiding them.
Everything changed in 1999 when Jose and Janette encountered the transforming love of God. Though separated at that time, God’s grace reached them both, leading them to repentance and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Their individual encounters with Christ sparked a powerful reconciliation—allowing them to forgive each other, restore their relationship, and step into a new beginning together.
On Saturday, February 5, 2000, Jose and Janette were married in a small, cozy Pentecostal church in Pompano Beach, FL. Their union stood as living proof that “all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
After more than twenty years in sunny Florida, God once again stirred their hearts—this time to return to the place where their story began: Rochester, NY. Though the move seemed unwise at first, faith triumphed over logic. Grateful for all God had done, they dedicated their lives and bodies to His service, learning that true worship means surrendering completely to Him. Refusing to conform to the world’s ways, they allowed God to renew their minds and transform their lives. In September 2013, they returned to Rochester with their two young sons, hearts full of faith and purpose.
Their new beginning was anchored in Galatians 2:20 —
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
The call of God on their lives became undeniable. Filled with the Holy Spirit and strengthened by spiritual maturity, their testimony resonates deeply with many who experience the same redeeming love of God. For Jose and Janette, their relationship with the Lord is not confined to a Sunday routine—it is a daily lifestyle of faith, gratitude, and purpose.
Their message is simple yet powerful:
If He did it for us, He can do it for you.
